He knew fairly well that this was indeed an opportunity he must not miss. An opportunity to impart what knowledge he have to his juniors but more than that he knew that he had to go. He had been waiting for this opportunity for months. He couldn’t miss this. He shouldn’t.

With a huge ogre like groan, he threw his blanket aside and sat up, blood quickly rushing out of his head. He felt his world spinning for a moment. His sight started to black out and he felt faint but he got a hold of himself before falling back into the bed.

“That happens to you almost every morning yet you still keep doing that. What’s wrong with you,” he was starting to get irritated by that constant nagging. “What a nag. He’s worse than my mother,” he thought with a sigh. Emmanuel knew that he shouldn’t have had that party the day before. He knew yet he still went ahead with it.

The party had been a blast. His friends knew what a celebration truly means, loud music with dancing and of course lots of booze. Emmanuel planned for a little reunion party with his secondary school classmates. He meant it to be a simple gathering filled with reminiscing about all the idiosyncrasies that all of them had done but he should have expected better. As the first few of the guys came in his house, behind them were packs of beers. Each of them was carrying three packs of beers. It was a wonder how these 17 year olds managed to purchase so much alcoholic drinks.

The evening progressed and before you knew it, everyone was walking on a slant while some were talking about how back then they did something really silly to a teacher like collect spit in his mouth and purposely say a word starting with the letter ‘F’ resulting in the teacher receiving a really wet dose of spit on her face. Emmanuel smiled and silently said, ”well at least there’s reminiscing.”

Emmanuel didn’t drink, though a lot of his friends were forcing him to drink. He was a Christian and he had his convictions. Instead, he held in his hand a cup of sprite. By the time people started leaving, it was already half past midnight. Many couldn’t even walk towards the door and Emmanuel started to wonder how they were going to go home. For all he knew, he might just find them sprawled on the ground at the foyer below his house. Everyone left, all except for one.
